The story of the widow's mite teaches members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that no sacrifice is too small. LDS Mormons give a tenth of their income in tithing to be used for LDS buildings, church materials, activities, and welfare and humanitarian efforts. Though following the commandment to pay tithing is a sacrifice, LDS Mormons believe that the Lord will bless them for it, and also desire to thank God who gave them everything.
