Mormon Latter-day Saints believe that the earth and all it's inhabitants are separated physically and mentally by a veil of sorts - from heaven and their memory of it. LDS Mormons do not believe in physical veil, but a barrier that prevents them from seeing the spiritual with their eyes and also prevents them from remembering the pre-mortal life.
