Mormon Latter-day Saints believe that at the time of the Savior's death in Jerusalem, many of the people in the Americas were in a state of wickedness and were persecuting those who believed in Jesus Christ. LDS Mormons believe that during the three days after Jesus' death there were great upheavals in the Americas that brought about much destruction upon the wicked there. The Book of Mormon tells of the Savior's visit to the people in the Americas shortly after his resurrection.
