The Kirtland temple was built by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was the first temple to be built under the direction of the Lord since the temple in Jerusalem was destroyed. The LDS Kirtland temple was dedicated on April 3, 1836. Jehovah, Moses, Elias and Elijah all appeared in the Mormon temple that day performing various duties in regards to the restoration of ordinances and keys of the priesthood essential to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
