"Joseph Smith, the Prophet and Seer of the Lord, has done more, save Jesus only, for the salvation of men in this world, than any other man that ever lived in it” (D&C 135:3) LDS President Joseph Smith was called of God at the age of fourteen to be His prophet in these latter-days. Through him the Church of Jesus Christ and His priesthood were restored to the earth, and the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ and His dealings with men on the American continent, was brought forth for us in these latter-days. Joseph Smith was born in 1805 and martyred in 1844, at the age of 38.
