Heber J. Grant is the seventh latter-day prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. President Heber J. Grant served as prophet in times of turmoil and war in the world. His encouragement to live the commandments and persevere through the trials of the adversary were strengthened by his own diligence and enthusiasm. President Grant said there was nothing more important than for the Mormon Church to take care of it's needy and during his time as prophet the welfare program was established. Heber J. Grant lived from 1856-1945.
